Pretty much stock 360 running 2 1/2 inch from the manifolds through high flow cats and Flowmasters. No crossover pipe and I love the sound of it BUT would I gain anything by cutting in a cross pipe X or H ? and where, front of cats or between cats and mufflers? Thanks for any input. Jeff

The majority of posters here who have had NOISE issues have gotten the most improvement with an X pipe. I would think the best location would be as close to the collector reducers as possible.

Straight duals without crossovers gives you the classic V8 sound. X-pipes seem to quiet things down based on others experiences, and improve flow because of the scavenging effect (think header like). H-pipe would be somewhere in between I think.

Probably nothing I avoided this because x and h pipes can be a pain when it comes to working on a car.

Straight duals will make your motor sound much more aggressive. A H will mellow things a little, but a X just changes the sound completely. With manifolds, I don't think you are going to see a gigantic difference either way. Maybe a little more power with the H than straight duals, but I don't think the X is worth it because I really don't like the X pipe sound clips I've heard.

Thanks for the input guys, I think the exhaust remains the same and I go on to something else to spend my money on.
