Hi, I just installed TTI headers on my 69 Dart with a 340CI. My question is on the drivers side the No. 7 header tube comes almost up against the brake proportioning valve. The line coming off the valve to the rear brakes is also against the header. I know that cant be good. The only thing different on this car is i changed it to front disc brakes. and replaced the valve with a stock valve for disc/drum brakes. I did all the meas. and the engine is in the right position. Other than that the headers fit perfectly. Where did i go wrong. Thanks Bob

My 69 Dart had the factory kh disks up front. I have a 360 w/TTI's and there is no interference at all. May have measured incorrectly

You probably didnt do anything wrong. None of the old Mopars where built "exactly" the same as far as measurements are concerned and you would be hard pressed to find to vehicles where the tolerances were identical, there are deviations on all the cars in all different locations. The headers are designed with just the body style(i.e. A,B,E etc) not the individual car and as no 2 are exactly alike some guys need to tweek here and bend there just a little to get things to fit, especially headers, even TTI's. I know it sucks but if you have to take a mallet and put a ding in the headers to get some clearance or bend a brake line or whatever, sometimes that what has to be done it doesnt take much and its the easiest way in most cases. Wow i'm out of breathe!

how far are you from TTi ??? call them and see if you can get another , maybe that one was welded slightly off at the header flange .

I went back out to the shop and started over again. I was able to line everything up and make all the attachments to the valve. The line that goes to the rear brakes is about 3/4" inches from the header pipe. Is this too close? I saw in laysons that they sell a heat shield for the valve. Thanks for all the help. Bob

3/4" is plenty, actually great in an A body on the driver side header since it is tight as hell to fit in there anyway. Any concerns just wrap a little heat tape around the header there.
