How can you pull it without scan tool? I tried the ign. on two times then on, and tried three times then on.
New sequence or ? Don't have manual, and no help on alldata.
Thanks, temporarily in OBX

Take it to the local parts store they normally scan them for free. The on off thing doesn't work on the newer models.

Thanks, bummer, don't want to alarm wife going to parts store on vacation. I'll hook up my autotap when I get home.

Take it to the parts store and have them scan it.Probally nothing but its a lot better than a break down.Unless a 100 buck possible tow is cheaper than a free scan.Rocky

I have 4 grand cherokees in my faimly
YOU DO NOT NEED a scan tool You have to sit in it with ther doors closed head lights off a/c off
turn the key on and off three times and the codes will come on were the odometer is IF there is no codes it will come up as DONE I have done this many times

AC was on auto, so I'll try again tomorrow. I figured there is some method so tech can get codes if his tool's broken.
That is how my '97 Dak. works.
Thanks,

Jim

I just tried it on my 99 Dakota and it doesn't work. Maybe it's a jeep thing.

Just tried again, everything I could find, off. Still would not report. Wait 'till I get home.
My '97 Dak has listed no problem with this procedure. Not real accurate, but reported code as specified,,,,
