Should be black with stencil written yellow "fairbanks" on it.

Yes its black with the big yellow stenciling on it say Fairbanks Street Action, just trying to see if there is a way to tell what size stall it is...Its 11" and has a 109 stamped into the metal, those are the only markings that I could find...

I just ran across one of these n my basement from years ago. Did anyone dig up any info?

Nothing like resurrecting a dead post.

Thanks!

Can't help with the stall but I will assume it is fairly mild due to the size. Fairbanks was a premium converter supplier back in the day.

I really like my Fairbanks. It is a 3500 stall and is not as big as yours. (diameter) Mine might be a 9.5" or 10".

Of course, stall depends a lot on what engine is turning it, so no absolutes.

IIRC the Fairbanks Street Action was rated between 2200 and 2500 rpm. It had a good reputation, but was certainly not an expensive race piece. I seem to remember them from the late '70s - early '80s.

I had one in my Satellite. It is an old one that a friend bought in the early 80's.The only "problem" With it was it has so many miles on it it needed a repair sleve on the snout to stop the seal leak.Held up fine behind the turbo 383, but stalled too low for the application. It stalled at 2200 behind the 383 but would be a little higher behind your 440

Thanks for the info. Maybe this winter I'll just throw it in my 66 Satellite with the 440 and see what happens. It's a pretty mild 440, but I have plans for some Eddy heads and a little extra cam next year.
