I have seen much discusion on cuda dash pads. Has Anything changed? I need a Black 3 speaker 71 with A/C Dash Pad. WHO is the best? It seems different people do better on different combos.I am not sure wo to use.

I'm not sure about venders, (I have not gotten that far yet with my re-build), but I read an article about doing this repair that sounded promising.

I've used nothing but ULTIMATE RIDES with good results

I second ultimate rides. IMO better than just dashes.

But none of them are as nice as an original I can tell you that. They come waaay short.

Ultimate Rides has nice grain texture on their vinyl, but for an AC dash pad, I'd go somewhere else. Ultimate Rides will not hesitate to modify a non-AC core into an AC dash pad. They did this on My Ultimate Rides AC dash pad, the problem was they cut the AC holes to small and I had to take a grinder to my new dash pad in order to get the AC vents to sit flush with the pad like they're supposed to.

Also, watch out for a little to much foam build up under the VIN plate area on the Ultimate Rides pad. I had to remove a little on mine to keep the VIN plate from bending when the rivets were installed.

Just Dashes only uses AC cores to make their AC pads, so I reccommend them for an AC car. Just Dashes doesn't have the foam under the VIN problem. I've heard the grain is more correct on the Ultimate Rides pad though.

Another consideration is which company will provide/install the script emblem if the car is a 1970 car. The 1970 script emblem should be chromed plastic, which is what Ultimate Rides uses, while Just Dashes uses an unchromed version.

Trying to speak with someone at Ultimate Rides about my order was very difficult. Rarely did anyone answer the phone or return my messages.

Just Dashes takes a long time and is very expensive, but I didn't have any problems with them.

I've heard good things about a newer vendor called Carolina Super Dashes or something like that. I think the're out of Ohio.

Ultimate Rides used to be real nice, but after seeing their pads at MATS and Spring FLing, they were not very impressive.

I did see the one that Just Dashes did and was impressed with it. If my pad is not fixable, then I would probably go with them. Even the stiching in the 1970 challenger pad they had on display looked nice.

I have had good luck with Dash Specialists in Medford, Oregon. They did my 70 Cuda three speaker dash and they also installed the chromed plastic Barracuda emblem above the glove box. A very good job, and my old dash was in bad shape. 541-776-0040. They are quite a bit less expensive than Just Dashes. Dean Taylor is the Manager.
