I've installed a lot of AMD sheetmetal. No real complaints except for some relatively minor stuff. Yes, the side marker recesses on some have been a bit too large, and most panels have some surface flaws. Overall fitment hasn't been an issue for me.
Most recently I did AMD rockers, door skins, 1/4 skins, outer wheel houses, trunk extensions on a Challenger. The rocker fit was terrific. Very happy. The door skins had some lumps and waves but fit very well and after some high build primer they blocked straight. 1/4 skins were a great fit and straight. No filler at all except the top joint. Wheel houses also fit fine and matched the 1/4 well. The original line up holes along the inner flange did NOT match but no big deal. The trunk extensions fit fine too but the holes for the rear valance did NOT match the 1/4. I would suggest they don't bother putting the holes in if they aren't in the right location. But that's pretty minor really and like I said- No body filler was needed AT ALL. Overall I would rate the AMD Challenger stuff i used very highly

I think whats important to note in this thread is that even though some "flawed" parts do end up in peoples hands from AMD the fact that they allways strive to make it right should not be overlooked.

Driver wheel housing to quarter alignment, with the rear lip clamped in place is out 1 inch over a 14 linear curve.

The flange was also off by the same amount where it meets with the original inner housing. I had to relief cuts in the flange to bring it in to match the inner, and then cut the whole lip off to make it meet the quarter panel. Before I cut it, I called AMD and spoke with a guy in the"install department" who just did a 70 Cuda and did the same thing.
Quarter panel and drop-off are good.

I'll be doing the other side in a few days, I probably will not use the AMD Housing.I already checked, and it does not fit the quarter either.

This is true. I bought both quarters for my 71RR over a year ago. Just getting around in installing them. The left required some surgery , but the right was real bad. AMD, even after a year sent me a replacement panel without hesitation, I have not installed it yet so I can't comment if its any better.

I agree, when I emailed AMD, I received a reply the next morning. It included two phone numbers, one which put me in direct contact with the shop. When I called, the two guys I spoke with were very honest. They could have easily put me off, and not admitted about thier product. So by them explaining to me that I was on the right track, it reduced my frustration, and made me feel like they were part of the solution.
Back in the day, I would pop rivet some aluminum or use fiberglass and bondo it up. While all of the parts are not perfect, I think they are still evolving, and will get better in the future.

AMD sheetmetal is real good and its about as good as its gonna get.

It will always need a little fix here and there, but it IS really minor.

Well, there is no need for us to exchange this panel, only using the front part anyways. Let me say this though, if we would have needed it, would have sent it back for sure.
Now that we cut the panel and fit it to the car, the metal on the wheel opening lip is nowhere near the orig panel width. Luckily, we are trimming the lip by 1/2 inch to max space for the tire. As far as this panel goes, thats two strikes!

Uh-oh! Now there's an issue with the trunk extension, looks like we will only use part of it. I'll get some pics soon! What grinds my gears is that you pay top dollar for this stuff..... and use bits and pieces. It's better than nothing, oh well. End of rant.

I'm using AMD sheetmetal on a 70 Charger. The one piece trunk floor was fantastic. Fit the rails very nice. I'm doing the outer wheel houses now and they look like they stick out to far at the rocker about an inch. I can modify them but I'll wait to see how the quarters fit first. The roof skin fits great as does the roof brace and rear frame brace. It's all better than having nothing to work with at all.

yes it is better then nothing..

i found out the hard way that
the dodge outerwheel houses had to be retooled
at one time
so the earlier versions fit like total garbage
i see you are now having the same issue
