Going to be mashing their right foot down for fun and profit tomorrow?
4 / 10 ?
I am in N. Kansas City and have a rent a car , so I would enjoy a chance to spectate if it is happening anywhere's close by. ( up to 100 miles I suppose )
The only thing they had at Enterprise was a mini van , so I need to take immediate steps to preserve any shreds of my dignity that may be remaining.
I will probably hit Raytown Recreation tonight for some billiards ( carom , not pool ) but that alone won't be enough to get the stink off of me.
I'm down here hauling Fords for another week and then it will be time to head home and spend on my heap.
But if there is any racing going on , I'd sure like to check out the action.

Knives I've got.
Money.......not so much.
Arkansas City , Ks. is 235.5 miles one way.
MoKan is running too.
146.3 miles.
I might just give Galen something to do tomorow.......wiping my drool off of his stuff.
I went in to Raytown rec because they are shown on the USBA web site as having a carom table......the only one in K.C. that was listed.
The owner and his Son ( Don and Doug ) were great people and know a bunch of guys I shoot with from Minneapolis from tournaments.
The carom community is pretty small in the U.S. , but I know there are pockets of players every here and there.
Much bigger on the west coast , but the guys who play are as fanatical about the game as the MoPar comunity about their cars.

Mo-Kan is a really cool little track right out of the '60's/70's.

If you do go to Mo-Kan, stop at Chicken Annies and Chicken Mary's (side by side) North of Pittsburg about 5 miles and out in the boonies! Best Chicken, German Potato Salad, onionrings and coleslaw you'll ever eat!

MoKan and Chicken Annies for the win.
Galen........thanks for the offer and potential hospitality.
gy3 ........you nailed it.
Not a huge field , but some real quality race cars.
They were only running 1/8th mile due to strong wind , but still some really fast rides.
Half a dozen MoPars with two set to kill in no electronics.
Really nice silver GTS with hemi badges on the fenders running 6.0's.....he didn't have the hood up while I was there , but that isn't the kind of thing a guy would lie about.
I watched time trials and three rounds , then had to head back up here to get ready for tomorrows 500 miles of fun and adventure.
And I may have changed my view point on jr. dragster.
Never saw that coming.
But it will stock the pool with future drivers for sure and the technology on these things is well past cool in my book.
They are still noisy little annoyances , but in a more tolerable way that I used to view them.
Maybe I'm just jealous that there was nothing like this when I was a kid.
All in all , a great way to spend a day.

Awesome, glad to see you had a good time!

They do have a Mopar only swap/show/drag at that track and I made it a couple of years age. Pure heaven!

The HAMB drags are coming up late this summer. '65 and down.

Oh yeah, if you drove through Ft. Scott you went through where I grew up... Don't hold it against me!

Hey gy3. dont be too hard on your old home town! I have lived here in Ft Scott almost all my life. We maybe a little behind times, but are slowly catching up! Not to mention, we have a bunch of Mopar guys here in town now. Most of them are into drag racing and/or restoration, but a couple of us prefer to go in circles!....Bob P.

Yep, I know those Mopar guys. They rebuilt my 440's 906 heads.

Ft. Scott is still a neat little town. It's just too bad they don't have any industry so people can make a decent wage.

I graduated from Liberty High(a bunch of years ago). I don't think any of my high school gear heads race in the area any more.
