I can get 111 octane leaded fuel at a gas station in my area. My cars ping a little bit with the 92 octane I have been using. I also add marvel mystery oil to my gas to try to help the pinging sound . If I put the 111 octane in my cars will it hurt the motor in any way? I am hoping they will run alot better. If so can I mix half 111 and 92. to cut down on cost? What do you all runin your hot rods?

go get a snow performace Meth injection kit. I did. It's about $260, easy install, adds 20-50hp and you'll never need race gas again.

Start with a 50/50 mix and then go a little less each time to see where the threshold is.

Running pure race gas isn't likely to make a big power difference if your engine doesn't require it. For driving around on the street all you need is enough octane to keep the engine happy.

Thanks, I will try that this summer. So the marvel mystery does nothing? I use to add a lead substitute . cd-2 was the name I think. But it did not seam to work at all.

The lead substitiute and Marvel Mystery oil both help keep you from getting valve recession, wich is good if you don't have hardened valve seats. They don't raise the octane level at all.
If you have enough cylinder pressure to need better than the available pump gas, mixing in race fuel will help,as long as you don't have catalytic convertors or oxygen sensors to worry about.

I agree with the snowperformance kit. I used one on my old turbo car and went 9.90s. Had to slow it down due to no nhra license.

I wouldn't recomend this.

I am not looking for any kit. I have never even heard of it. But it does sound like it adds alot of power. But I am happy with what I have already for power. Maybe I will put marvel in my blended gas cocktail. It can't hurt.

Ive never used the meth kit on carb cars or na, so I cant tell you it works 100% on them.

I can tell you that I used the meth kit on my turbo mustang and clicked off 9.90s like it was nothing.

The turbo buick guys run 87 octane, meth/water mix and make up to 30psi.....no complaints from them or me.

Not gonna "rust" out your engine like tons of folks seem to think lol
