DOUGG OP member D Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 92 south carolina U.S.	we've got two 2005 5.7's, one in a durango, the other in a ram. Both vehicles approx. 100,000 mi. Is there ever a time to change to thicker oil or should I continue to use the 5-20 as specified ? Thanks [

ahy master A Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 7,664 IN	I ran 5W-30 Mobile 1 in an '06 Durango I just traded in today. 165K and runs and drives great. Oil consumption same as new - 1 quart during the oil change interval. I just wanted the extra protection if/when it was run hard and hot. It didn't seem to bother the MDS either. 20W just seemed too light to me. It it was mine, I'd go ahead and switch to the 5W30.
