The FSM on my '65 Satellite w/727 says to coat the crankshaft "pocket" with bearing grease where the torque converter's center hub sits when the engine and tranny are mated together. I forgot to do this, but could go back and do it. Does it matter? What's the purpose? There wasn't any grease in there when I pulled the tranny off, but I recall seeing streaks of the old stuff on the flexplate.  Thanks, - Art

I've already bolted them together just not torqued yet (I only noticed the grease thing when I double checked the FSM procedure).
Doc, I think you mean the two stud kinda things that fit into the holes on the bellhousing? Yep, everything lines up -TC sits right good and I've got the one flexplate hole lined up opposite the TC drain plug (like the FSM says).
