I tune with a -9 NGK, am going to switch to an Autolite 3911. More than one knowledgeable person on this board say they are worth a few hp. I run alky, 15/1 compression 528 with 440-1 heads.

Greg, isn't the 3911 a projected tip?? I thought that was a no no with injection.
Projected tip are worth a few ponies, but not supposed to be used with NOS or injection.

FWIW, I have been running AR3932 for many years with great results. 14:1 555ci, also ran them in my big motor on gas/nos. I like the cutback electrode.

I have been running the Champion C59CX was told a week or so ago the Autolite AR3910 was the same. I plan on trying some,I think they are a side gap plug. I run 2 Terminators on alcohol 15.2-1 CR and the Champions seem to work good, but they said on the dyno the Autolites where worth a few more HP.

The main reason I've heard of for not using a projected gap on blown or NOS injectd motors is the fire can be blown out on the projected tips but not so easy on the non projected gap plugs Probally the same reasoning on using the true side gap plugs on boosted or nitro injected motors

Guess I will have to find out what auto lite plug is a side gap? That is what I want to try, or the best autolite plug for my app.

Greg, They tell me the AR3910 plugs are side gapped like C59CX plugs. Going to stop by Advance and order a couple of sets tomorrow to try.

The AR3910 are $2.69 ea @ Advance.

PS While we have some people on here with some knowledge on alcohol I wound like to ask a question. Do you retard or advance timing with alcohol? Some say advance some say retard. So far I have left mine @ 35 degrees, thats what it was when it was dynoed on race gas. Just getting to the point where everything is working good enough to try a few things.

You do what the engine tells you to do. No two are the same. Typically smaller motors respond better to more timing then big motors. I retarded my 604ci on alky but my 555ci likes lots of timing. YOu just have to experiment
