I have a new motor being assembled with Edelbrock heads, its a big block and have some questions about what to expect with the spark plug interference. The headers fit on my 906 heads fine, but with the angled plugs on the new heads they surely will not "bolt right up". The car is a 67' Barracuda and the engine compartment is tight. Has anyone modified a set of proparts headers to fit the edelbrock heads and have some insight on what to expect? Its looking like my #1 pipe will hit the #5 plug and the passengers side header looks like some "dinging might occur for plugs atleast. These headers are nice, finished by QC Coatings I hate modifing them with all the money tied up into them.

I had no problems w/E heads/spark pug and ppheader interference. Just need patience and an extra send of arm joints for 5/7. Or just yank the starter. (low deck/manual trans)

I made the mistake of trying to use a set of the original Pro Part headers on my 1969 383 Dart GTS 4 speed car they where not designed to be used on low decks in A bodys High deck motors only I'm not sure about the new ones Mazolini is selling now I ended up buying a set of the MustangEDITED, There Maddod headers, not Mustangs, sorry ) two inch low deck headers for that car, I haven't gotten around to swapping them into the Dart yet, maybe this spring I'm planning on installing them to check the fit and if I like them I will take them back off and have them coated black like the Pro Parts are now

yep, weren't designed to fit ld motors. reformatted #7 downpipe to clear clutch linkage (stock) and double gaskets, other than that they fit ok

I thought you could use the proparts on a low deck with -1 heads like prosport does ... I have the new 2 1/8th in proparts with RB and -1 heads I needed a couple tubes fabbed for clearance but looks nice now cause of the ceramic coating

I use the same set of Pro Parts headers on both 383 and 440 in my car.Only plugs that are harder than the rest are 5 and 7,which I get from under the car.

My 383 has the stock "346" iron 1971 heads on it, the 440-1 heads would probally be a lot better fit, if the exhaust ports on the headers are big enough to match the heads I bought a set of the Hedman race headers for the Indy race heads for my Duster and the exhaust ports on those headers aren't bigger than the ones on the used CNC ported 440-1 heads I bought I ended up enlarging the opening in the exhaust flanges so there won't be much, if any, reversion on them. I'm probally going to have to end up with a custom built set of headers with either a 2 1/8 or 2 1/4 pipes for that motor

I currently run these headers on my car with no problems, it is a raised block not a low deck. My concerns are that the headers are designed for original spark plug location, not the angled plugs on the Edelbrock heads. What headers does everybody run with Edelbrock aluminum heads on there 440's in an A-body? Surely im not the fist person who upgraded there stock 440 head with the Edelbrock units only to find out there proparts headers dont fit.

I've used a set of Hooker fenderwell two inch primary pipe on both my 1971 Duster with two different motors,440 and 400 stroker, with Eddy RPM heads and the 1969 Dart with a 440 with iron heads and the 383 before taking them off I would put the heads on and try the headers, worst case scenario is there are problems Probally not as no one has bruoght that up on here that I can remember Maybe that is why no one has said anything else

I got to thinking last night after I posted that it is irelevent wether its a B or RB, I am concerned only with the spark plug interference. The relationship between the headers and the plugs is the same on eithier motor. If the headers clear the angled plug configuration on a 383 they will also do the same on a 440, am I correct in thinking this. Having said that, does anybody have any pics of a set of ProParts headers mounted up to the Performer Heads?

Eddy heads, EZ heads and proparts headers, fit great. # 7 was kind of a pain. I didn't read all the posts, how about Maddog headers?
