Hey Guys

I'm trying to locate a set of 73-76 A Body DRUM Spindles. I've been asked if I need a set from a (9" drum car or a 10" drum car,
Was there a spindile diameter change in the 9 - 10" drum brake cars ?
(A Body)

Thanks
Ron

The bearings are different sizes from the 9 to 10 brakes, so the spindle has to be different. I don't have one apart to measure. You could get a bearing ID mearsure front a auto parts store for reference.

Are you doing the Viper brake swap? The drum knuckle has a larger inner wheel bearing in 1973. That allows you to run the 11.75 rotors directly on the drum knuckle spindle. It isn't the size of the brakes that matters, it is the size of the inner wheel bearing. Although I do believe that the 10 inch drums only came on the later spindles with the larger bearings.

Pretty sure the 9" drum disappeared in '73 when the big bolt pattern came around on the A bodies.

I't's like this...Now that I'm looking for a set of A body Drum spindles they've vanished ! Tying to find them locally and save a big Shipping Charger.

Thanks Andy Yes I'm doing the Viper Caliper conversion, Found my Calipers for $250 ,(9000 miles fresh), in California Shipping them came in at another $75. So I'm hoping to find a set of Spindles a bit closer to Ontario Canada. But All I seem to be finding are the 9" drum spindles.
