Are there any secrets to bending carbon fiber? I wonder about heating it with a heat gun as you bend it? Just don't want to waste a piece trying it. LOL

Thanks,
Donald

IMO call a few carbon shops like aerodyne here in Indy. They can build it for you and you may have the same in it that the flat sheet cost. Carbon is done like fiberglass, except the carbon could be raw, and once you lay it out you have to squiggy a clear resin all over it, or get it "pre-preg" with the Carbon fiber impregnated with the resin then you bake it in an auto-clave

Not sure what your application is, but I have some .040"? sheet CF that bends pretty easy.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Donald is helping me with trying to use some .125 carbon on my 69 Dart project, it's too thick for a couple of the applications we have.

jcc, what size sheets or drops do you have? How much $?

Thanks,
Mike Gray

I have a small amount (8" x 48") for a project, tonight I will look up my source and let you know where I bought it, and it only bends in one plane at a time, ie it bends but its not pliable?
