here ya go buddy all bolts in pic have been replaced with ARP 12pt polished stainless cause thats the way I roll

Looks good...............after Jim explained wiring it up to me and seeing these photos, this is the best solution for my "antique" charging system. Thankxxx guys. How many amps do those put out at idle and above?

Nice bolts Sledgie But..... I hope that that the batt is real close to that little bitty output wire.... and dead short potential on that field wire on top of the case..... larger wire and shrink wrap are in your future..... .....

I have heavy wire from battery in trunk whole way to up under the dash with my hidden drop down panel on pass side to starter silenoid. those wires are from silenoid etc to that pic... other than the headlight harness car has all new wiring.

Hey Sledgie... I cant tell from your pics but it looks like a Delco Remmey CS 130 / 105amp unit..... Ditch the 10g output for a 6g if the run is kinda short 5-6 feet go 4g if its much longer.... cheep upgrade to save ya from repainting your hood

This also looks like a good route. I run an MSD box, elec. fan fuel and water pump so not sure what my needs are in terms of amperage.

Dom remember if you drive at night... head lights and
maybe the heater... add those amps in also

Not everyone needs a 140... dont know why you think
thats a winner.... because you have one also
if I have 40amp draw thats just wasted power

Save the large amp alts for your tow vehicle, figure out your amp draw and go 15 amps larger and wire it properly for a 2% voltage drop and call it a day, big alts with crappy little wire is a waste of power

Let me re-phrase this...............I`d like a general unit that I can buy at any parts store in case it goes bad leaving me screwed and stranded.

I don't believe any stock one it one wire. So nothing from a parts store is going to wire up.

I put a 102mm 6.78 lbs Denso of a: Suzuki Samurai 1.3L 1986-1989, Chevy Sprint 85-88, Suzuki Swift 84-89 Just uses you field wire (regulator bypassed) and a sense wire to a 12V source to monitor battery condition.

https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post6516368

But they have the 5.6 lbs 50 amp one wire alternators here for $74: http://www.dbelectrical.com/p-4700-new-c...80-and0525.aspx

Do you run a bunch of stuff that needs more than 50 amps?

Most Corporate owned NAPA stores stock a one wire Gm Alt part # 13-4011sw for the life time warranty 213-4011sw for the 3 year warranty.
