That looks like the engine they had sitting there that is going into a “modified” Charger Daytona. Apparently the owner runs some sort of road racing thing with it. The engine needs to last 500 miles for the event. One of the interesting things was that Ray had shown us a report that the owner (some Mercedes dealer) had contracted an Engineering firm to do some CFD analysis on the car itself in order to modify it to be more stable at high speeds. Way out of my pay scale!

Silly question though. On that screen, lower right hand corner is "POWER HP X 100" which periodically hits in the 900's. Obviously something is wrong? 93,400 hp @ 7,783 RPM just doesn't sound right...
the "X 100 for the power guage and X 1000 for the speed guage" is refering to the numbers around the guage... like when the needle on the power guage is at 5 it means 500 (5 X 100). On the speed guage when the needle is at 5 it means 5000 (5 X 1000).
Most factory tachs are displayed this way... Just so there are not all those 0's...

Brave to be tuning by EGT.
The old school way before wide and narrow O2 sensors I wonder if they do have dual wide bans on it or maybe(didn't see them) individual O2 on each cylinder? My bung hole still squeezes tight everytime I hear a motor on the dyno making a pull
You can see the laptop in one of the views, the FAST has full sensor feed back and data logging. The "dyno" and its gauges is not what they would tune by. They would just use those gauges to verify what the efi is telling them already.

EGT's repeatibility is highly dependant on location on the port. The temps are not consistant thought the CSA of the port. O2 is.
Towards the end of my racing program, I took all the EGT's out and never looked back.
Hi Guys -
Ray's DTS dyno has been converted to display AFRs in place of the EGTs. So, what you see on his console as "1250" is actually "12.5:1" AFR for gasoline. They are using 8 of those AFX units, which use the NGK sensors, for the individual AFRs.
I am not using closed loop feedback on the FAST at all, we were simply trying to balance out the VE table and the individual cylinders in the video above.
You guys are very sharp, I'm glad someone out there is wondering why. I wouldn't tune that engine by EGTs either, and yes the AFRs are all over the damn place, there is a lot of improvement that needs to be made before the engine is ready to go into the car.
