69 Roadrunner 727 ,trans been rebuilt less than 50 miles ,Kickdown linkage was binding on shift linkage ,so i juggled some shift levers i had and got it working without rubbing ,its got a 440 stock with edelbrock carb ,now i don,t have any 2-3 upshift ,i have moved kickdown linkage in every conceivable position ,i can move it far enough it won,t shift out of low ,tie it back full pressure ,1/2 pressure ,nothing ,i know you all goning to tell me to set kickdown to factory settings ,i,m stumped ,trans hit real hard when installed ,like it had a shift kit ,but it doesn,t ,shifts harder than any other 727 i,ve had ,i checked bands ,readjusted same thing ,by moving linkage enough to eliminate 1-2 to shift ,that tells me govenor is working ? I,m thinking its got a valve stuck in valvebody ,all gears are solid ,no slipping etc ,any ideas ,i,m about stressed out over this

Would it go into high before you messed with the linkage?

Was a shift kit installed with a new line pressure spring? A first guess is high line pressure. If it shifted hard and late to begin with and now won't go in 3rd at all, I'ld either check line pressure or set it down a bit and see what happens.
If you drop the pan to lower the line pressure, you may also drop the valve body and use air to pressure check the clutch packs and their circuits.
I did have the fiber thrust washer between the input and output shafts beat out one time and the tranny wouldn't go into 3rd. And I initially diagnosed that with the air check.

If you want to check things yourself, check the line pressure and air check the circuits, that will at least narrow things down. Otherwise, I'ld continue talking to the rebuilder.

It was susposed to take a couple of days to rebuild it ,it ended being 45 days ,i will figure it out one way another ,i,m digging through my junk trying to rig up a pressure guage and line ,might be easier just to pull valve body and do air test ,i,m thinking its some kind of valving ,trans feels to postive ,not sluggish in any gear ,even when its cold on start up it feels very firm

Do you have the correct Mopar throttle lever extension on that Edelbrock? Without it you'll never get it right.
If it worked before you messed with the linkage and doesn't now you have a linkage problem.
