Hi all,

I hardly have any dash lights on my 67 Satellite at night. I can dim them, but they aren't very bright when fully turned up. Is the dimmer part of the headlight switch getting worn out? I assume it is a potentiometer, that dims and brightens the dash lights.

Thanks

You need to go to brighter bulbs.

Yes its probably just worn out, mine is a real PITA. You turn it all the way up and its dim. If you play with it it will finally get all the way bright and you hit a bump and they go out completely.

I changed to what the Car Quest Guy said were brighter bulbs, but I don't see any difference. Yeah, somtimes they just go out completely when I am adjusting the dimmer. Probably just need to get a new switch. The only place I have been able to find a new one is Atlas Obsolete Parts, and one has to buy the high/low beam floor switch with the headlight switch and they want $68 bucks for the pair. Does anyone else know where to get one for the 67 "B" bodies? Yearone only has them for the "A" bodies.

Thanks everyone for your input!!

Have you tried the local parts stores?

I picked one up today and it sure looks like the one I need. Gonna change it out tomorrow!!!

Try this O'Reilly Link, although it might show the Iowa City, IA store I go to.

Changed out the headlight switch and now my dash lights are working great! The best since I bought the car.

I'll have to buy one myself, didn't think that anyone would make that. Thanks for the link
