Anybody ever disassembled their power window motors? Do you have any tips, tricks or advise? I am "tuning" up all the window mechanisms on my '66 any would like to go thru the motors also.

Thanks in advance.

Pretty much like any motor - housing, commutator, brushes, and gearbox. Frankly, if these are originals and work OK, I'd probably leave them alone. If you do dissect them, you'll likely need new brushes, clean the commutator, and repack the gearing box.

I think if it needs more than cleaning the old hard grease out & repacking then you are probably better off buying rebuilt units, they are fairly cheap....
