I am going to Florida march 1st through march 8th and I am going to be 8 miles from sunshine and 30 miles from Bradenton. I plan on going to Bradenton on march 5th for the car show swap meet and bracket race and sunshine for the friday night bracket race. I have never been to any other track then brainerd international raceway since its the only one in minnesota. Any other Ideas would be great as well for things to do while im there. Anyone going to be at either of these races? 67' charger 499 RB 10.57 at 127

Maybe fishing Sunshine is a hole... don't set your expectations too high. The track surface at Bradenton is very nice but the pits need a lot of work. Whenever I think they are bad though I just think about Sunshine! For those of you who have not heard the owner of both of these tracks was in a very bad accident. Head on collision on i-275 a young girl was driving the wrong way and hit Todd at 2:30 in the morning. She died and he was badly injured but should be ok.

He had to sell it to help his sister pay some medical bills, so I don't know where it ended up after that. His was a 4spd car. I've been to Sunshine Dragstrip. It was definitely nothing fancy, but I still had a good time while I was there. Had I realized Bradenton was that close, I would have taken that one in as well. (Was down in Tampa for 2 weeks for work in 2000. Took in a race @ Sunshine and went up to Ocala for Garlits museum.) 6482129-ForrestCharger.jpg (41 downloads)

DC Just wish they would'nt schedule it same time as the Bradenton bracket program, makes no sense, I know 2 different racing families that are gonna have cars at both tracks PIA!

Our International raceway doesnt have a lighting setup due to a noise ordinance no racing after 6 pm. Any good fast rental cars in the area? I might go watch some of the racing at Bradenton also since its only 30 miles away. First time going to the races for me in the winter also!! We have 4 ft of snow on the ground and -30F 67' charger 499 RB 10.57 at 127
