Hey guys! Working on a 68' Road Runner for a guy and I got a new trunk seal from Year One and the trunk won't shut. Just seems like the seal was too thick. It's a good 3/8" from closing completely. I could get it to latch if I moved the latch way down, then my lines and trim are way off. I called Metro, the company that made it, and they said they get out of tolerance sometimes. They sent me a new one out and it's the same as the old one. Just wondering if I installed it incorrectly? I followed the directions and I have done numerous A-body seals without incident. I found a few pics, but not very good ones. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks!

I had the same problem when I installed the new trunk seal on my 68' Coronet. Trunk would not close. All I did was loosen the bolts at the hinge and then adjusted the trunk lid till it was able to close.

I had the same problem, seems all the repops aren't that good. When I adjusted the latch all the way down I could slam the lid shut. I had to let the gasket settle and adjust the latch little by little over about a month until it was where it needed to be. When I posted just about the same question as you I was also told by another member to get paint sticks and clamp the gasket all around for a few days till it settles if needed.
