a buddy of mine wants to do this combo,the hemi IS NOT the extended bell type, i have a 8 bolt hemi flywheel that is about 14 3/4 in diameter 146 tooth,the dakota used a 13 3/4 diameter flywheel,143 tooth
can the 14 3/4 be turned down to 13 3/4 ,use the 143 tooth ring gear and will the dakota AX15 bolt to the back of the Hemi and will the dakota starter line up with the flywheel to start the engine??

Try here they have alot of info and the adaptors for the swap.Wish they were around when I did mine

Just let your friend know that very little is available to Hot Rod a Desoto Hemi (I own a 1957 341). Cool engines but EXPENSIVE to buy aftermarket parts for (if you can find them). If he's good at making one off custom parts he'll be in allot better shape.

Here are the Desoto Hemis that were produced. Only Desoto Hemi parts interchange, Desoto, Dodge and Chysler Hemi parts are all unique. For ease of identification, factory 2 barrel engines were "Firedome" engines, same engine with a 4 barrel intake was a "Fireflite", same engine with a dual 4 barrel intake (and a few extra cubes) was the "Adventurer"

TR waters is a member on here to,has bellhousing adapters for early Hemis.
