Anyone using them? Pros/ cons? They'd be going on my 440 in the Duster (9.00:1 comp., .509" cam, Demon 750, Eddy Performer RPM, Headers,3.55 Sure grip, 4-speed)
which material heads, aluminum or cast iron? If aluminum I would cut them to help incresase the compression ratio, if there the 440-1C I would leave the compression where it is To answer your question on use, I have a CNC ported set as wel as several other sets of iron and aluminum and the 440-1 CNC set has made the most power on any of my N/A engines so far IHTHs

Thanks Cab. I'm interested in the aluminum versions. I know it's not the smartest move, but I'm also hoping to run them right out of the box.

Edelbrock heads would be a better match for the rest of your parts.

I also bought my EZ's through Nick at Compu-flow, already set up for a solid roller by him. I just bolted them on after he did his magic. I hope they run as good as they look.

I run E-Z's om my .030 over 440 and am very pleased with them. I would suggest upgrading to better spring retainers - I broke one at 6500 rpm, luckily no major damage. Mine even use the standard port window. I had mine milled to get 72cc chambers for 11 to 1 CR. I run a .600 lift flat tappet solid cam, 1050 dominator, edel. victor, race weight is 3650 - best of 10.58@125 at 2100 ft.

I will let you know in 3 weeks or so. We just installed a set on our bracket car and the engine is going back in Friday if we get our parts. We may visit the engine dyno later next week as well, I will keep you posted on numbers whether we hit the track or the dyno. We were running 6.50's in the 1/8th with our iron headed engine so we should definitely improve that with the upgrades we've made.

, Mark you really should dump the big dollar purchase into the poorly executed shortblock that came in that car. I talked to Dan about your goal after the last time we talked and he said all you need is a cam change on your current setup to get you there.
I'd change the cam and get a little port work done to the 915's ...

If it were me, i would buy a set of ported rpm's, mill .060 off them to get the compression up and keep the motor under 6500. Sport 440's car goes mid 10's with your set up and Eric used to as well. Just my Mick

i agree with the others that said the RPM heads would be a better choice for the current combo. i dont necessarily feel they would offer better performance than the EZ, but should be equal on that combo, at a lesser cost. however, if future upgrades are part of your plans, especially in terms of displacement, then it makes more sense to just get the better heads now.
OOTB std port EZ's flow around 295cfm, a nice valve job with back cut valves and the bowls blended and chambers ported around 315. open to MW size and your in the 340cfm range.

Thanks John and everyone else. John knows the car personally, and maybe the 'magic bullet' is not a head change, but a cam change. But what? I was hoping the EZ's with the small chambers and better flow would be the ticket.
