I am running a set of 4:56 rear gears in a 65 Belvedere and need a ratio adapter to make my speedometer read correctly. I am running a cable shift trans and I have been trying to find an original speedo adapter, but have found nothing so far. Anyone know of another ratio adapter that will work with the early type of speedo cable, or will I have to keep looking for an original adapter?

I tried to get one a few years ago, got put on a list for a run of them, they have never gotten back to me. I kind of use my tach to judge speed, my Garmin tells speed but I can never remember to take it with me. Good Luck!

Any speedometer shop can build one for you.

The speedo shop can build one that goes inline in the cable but the correct trans-mounted adapters are NOS or Imperial Services only.

Thanks for the info, I'll give Imperial a try.
