I recently read an old post on torque specs for a set of rods or something. Something I read in the post made sense. Someone mentioned the torque specs are based off the fastener, not the rod, main cap, etc.
I built a 440 about 4 years ago. I've only put a few thousand miles on it at the most. I have had no problems with it, runs great, great oil pressure etc. But I'm just looking for piece of mind.
I used ARP rod and main bolts and torqued them to Chrysler specs (in the proper increments as well). I didn't think to torque them to the fastener spec though, but if I remember correctly, I don't remember seeing torque specs on the package for the bolts, but I could be wrong.
Should/might this cause a problem if there hasn't been one already? Like I said, I bolted/torqued/sequenced them the correct way according to Chrysler specs, I just want piece of mind knowing whether or not this is acceptable with ARP fasteners.
