Never used a Herbert cam or known anyone who has.
Are they any good, performance and durability wise?

I was looking at one of his or lunati,or comp.
I have used comps before with very good results, but I am open for options.

Call Bullet Cams.
I was very happy with the level of interaction and advice.
They also considered my input before we decided on a profile.
Price was great , and though the motor has yet to see fuel or spark , I am fully confident in what it is going to be.
Nothing wrong with Comp or Lunati.
Big names generally mean consistency in manufacture and performance.
But I felt better with being able to consult with their guy on the phone ( I can't remember his name )
I am juggling a street / strip combination , and wanted to compromise as little as possible , yet still retain some manners and durability.
Here is where personal insight and assistance comes into play.

I'd skip the 30yr old cam designs and call Bullet cams.

This post is really off the subject and pertains to a CHET Herbert roller/roller lifter combo.

This cam/kit was bought new in 1959, I bought it(used) in 1963. Used it in race SB GM for a couple of years, sold it to a friend. He used it for 3-4 years. I bought it back in 1969 to install in a street engine. Ran it until 1978(thousands of miles)----then it sat for 30 years on the shelf.

Now to the interesting part. We are in the process of rebuiding a old street roadster. Pulled the roller/lifters off the shelf, sent the cam to a friend with a "Cam Doctor"---just wanted to see how accurate the original cam grinding was. He sent the data to me-----the cam was "DEAD ON", a tribute to very accurate, manual indexing cam grinding. The roller lifters are still very smooth. The cam/lifters are now at home in a 283 Chev.

I told you this was off the subject----just be patient with this old geezer----I like to tell stories, my son just "humors" me---as I just mumble on.
