Anyone try putting spacers on top of a tunnel ram and is there anything positive to be gained by using any spacer?

Yes. Some will claim they need the plenum, but in my case, better directed air flow. I profiled the 5/8" spacer I put below my bug catcher to better even out the air flow. The bug catcher is mounted a little too forward, and the back doesn't get the volume, so I put a 5/8" spacer under it and ground it to lead toward the back.

It depends on the tunnel ram manifold and the needs of the motor I have heard of people using both four hole and open two inch spacers on tunnel rams and going faster with them than without. I used a set of 1.5 inch tapered Dominator to 4150 adapters on this fabricated tunnel ram with two Holley 750 D.P. carbs. the motor was a 471 C.I. (440 block) bracket motor that ended up making over 720 HP at 7000 RPM I had used some of the same parts(cam and lifters, cylinder heads, rockers with a single 1050 Holley 1050 CFM Dominator carb. and intake) on another 452 C.I. bracket motor with more compression that ended up making almost 100 HP less at 5900 RPM I think that this is one of those "you got to try it on your combination" to find out if it works or not EDITED: Oops, forgot the picture

In using an INDY Hemi tunnel ram a 1" spacer has added as much as 40 Hp. It's too small as casted hence the large improvment.
I have heard of even more with a 2" spacer

I have a weiand tunnel ram with 2x750 DPs so I was wondering if any gains would be made with this intake hence my question. I would like to get my combo in the 700 HP range so anything simple I can do helps.

I forgot to point out that on that bracket motor I had the heads B1-BS CNC ported to M.W. sizes after the frist dyno session, that intake is M.W. size also, sorry for not being more specific on that to start with
