ORP, formally known as IRP, has a new name. It is now Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. Good Grief, how many times are we going to get a new name???????

I just received an e-mail from the track today so I guess I didn't know this was already posted. Sorry, but I've been busy building furniture and remodeling our guest bathroom so I didn't see the thread. That's what happens when you're getting old, you just can't keep current. Maybe I'll do better in 2010.

I still call it IRP, and I still call Sears Point Sears Point; just stubborn about stuff like that, I guess. Lucas isn't paying ME to change what I call the place! Using a corporate name for a place obscures its location and arguably demeans its history, to my mind. I guess the other view is that the sponsor's keeping the place open, but I still like place-names for tracks.
