Took the emergency brake assy. off so I could paint it. Noticed a very small spring lying on the floor by the work bench. Didn't notice a spring on the assy. before & dont see where it could go. So does it have a spring in it somewhere?

there is a small spring that goes on the release rod to assist in getting the handle pushed out..

A photo would be helpful..

If you talking about the spring on the release handle then that is still there. It wraps around the rod. Maybe 5 or 6 inches long. The one I found is much smaller, maybe an inch long. I should have take a pic, but I was chuggin along in the shop with multible thing going on. I just dont want to reinstall the brake assy. only to find that spring go's in & have to take it back out to install the spring.
