My new car was being run in outlaw and grudge races with a blown and injected HEMI. I bought it rolling and it has a strange fabricated 9" with an aluminum Strange Ultra. Im not familiar with the Ultra but this thing is extremely beefy. Is it for high horsepower applications or what is it intended usage?

Hey Jason! Give me a call when you get a chance. We're a pretty heavy dealer for Strange, too.... Have had a lot of experience with that Ultra rear....

I would keep it if I were you

Ben

I bought mine from Holt race cars and it has been very nice. No problem at all with my current power level or with any planned upgrades. It is a very beefy center.

$4150 for a center section?? Mark Williams ain't even that much.

The Ultra's are a nice bolt thru design that will accept a 9.5" ring gear. I put one in my dragster when I shot a pinion gear thru the side of the case.
I paid less then $2k

The ultra center is no where near that money. His must have been a complete end to end unit. I have one in my dart with all of the good stuff. only drawback is when you go to change gears the pinion shims are expensive!
A bonus is my driveshaft sensore screws right in plus there is another one if i decide to add a helper box.

Price quote was for the whole rear. Fab housing, wilwood brakes, 40 spline lightened parts and center. If you have a Strange catalog its listed at that price plus shipping. I like their Dana..

it will handle whatever you can throw at it. Keep it cause the dana is going to let you down when you want lower numericaly gear ratios in pro gears.
