Personally I am tired of hearing about LS motors. I will not take away from their capability but all I hear about IS those motors. I would lover to hear something about the new gen hemi but I don't think they stand up as well as a LS. Although a set of good aftermarket heads would probably solve that.

I think this is a 2005 Dodge Ram. I will look for some better photos. There are Jeeps with more than 1200 AWHP and many fast cars out there. The aftermarket is finally catching up.

I am very aware of the 1200 hp twin turbo Jeep. I own a SRT so I check in on those guys from time to time.:) You see LS motors in absolutly everything but I havn't seen a real forced induction hemi in anything but Kurt Busch's car. I hear they have head lifting issues at much of anything above the 1100 hp mark. Maybe I am wrong. I don't go see what those LX guys are up to though.

Any more info on the truck though. I am a big truck guy.

The GM stuff will always hold the spotlight due to production numbers and the massive bowtie fan club.
The 350 will always overshadow the LA.
The 454 will always overshadow the 440.
The LSx will always overshadow the new Hemi.

Personally, I think the Hemi has some good architecture and should be able to hold it's own with the LS. The use of aluminum blocks by the factory would be a real bonus.

I know you guys are all mopar guys, and anything I say well not change some of your guys outlook.

BUT..

The LS engine incorporates some of the best features and technological advances available. While the new hemi might share some of these with the ls, there are a few things that KILL it. Number one in my opinion is the lack of tuning ability.

While G.M has not stopped most aftermarket tuning companies, Dodge will not allow much of anything to go threw except the crappy ass hand held products. With no way to control the hemi, what is the point of trying to build it to do anything???? With no builds comes no demand, which come with no support. You can complain about the ls engine, but anyone can tune them to do almost anything. Heck, I got a 2002 5.3/4l60 truck ECM to run a 2000 truck with a 2003 6.2 (bored out 6.0) and a 97 4l80e trans with injectors that were more than double in size and all running speed density...

Further more G.M is actually making AFTERMARKET engine parts for the ls. Not just lame cam swaps, we are talking full blown 6 bolt head short and tall deck blocks. Heads that will utilize the extra bolts..... Has dodge done anything that radical? Thanks Dodge....

So what do the die hard, must have new hemi guys do????? Build there delicate Hemi engine and run it with G.M computers..... Thanks again DODGE... lol

I guess I look at things differently..... Chevy makes the best engines, dodge (and some G.M) make the best looking muscle cars, ford makes the best rear ends..... I dont really care I guess, as long as it is some ricer POS.....

Wow. You've been drinking the Mopar KoolAid.

The 426 Hemi is great if you can throw cubic dollars at it but it's horrible for a mild street build. The wedge was quicker engine from the factory and you didn't have to pull the master cylinder to get the valve cover off.
