Removing one front strut rod tonight I gouged it with some Channel locks. I thought I had wrapped it up tightly enough in rags to not gouge, but I was wrong.

Are these things like torsion bars where if you gouge or nick 'em you should replace them, or can I hit it with a flap disc and not worry?

Thanks all mighty Mopar Wise Men!!

Just clean it up.The T bar is a spring. The strut rod just keeps the lower arm from moving back and forth.Rocky

The Torsion bars twist and bend, which is why a nick or gouge can damage them. When they twist, the gouge can spread, leading to a crack and possible failure.
a STRUT ROD merely limits fore and aft movement of the LCA, so even though they shouldnt have your name engraved in them, a few scars shouldnt affect their durability.
