I'm going to swap a dash frame that will need the color changed.
Is the udf code on the fender tag the same as the dash color,
with the exception of the finish?

I agree: it depends. On my H2F8 bee the upper door paint is F8 and so is the dash (less the gloss) but on say a car with black and white interior the upper door paint could be white and the dash would then be black.

I have a 71 Demon and i just finished having the dash painted. Mine was black and I originally stripped and painted the dash myself to be gloss black. Do not make that mistake the dash should not be a shiny gloss black at all in a demon just black. I ended up having it repainted and it looks amazing.

I see what you're saying, the car is a '69 Coronet with B5 exterior
and B7 UDF color. I am assuming the dash frame should be B7 also.
