Does anyone know what size the roll pin is in the coupler for the power steering box on a 70 b-body

Man, I just bought one a few weeks ago -- I'll be damned if I can't remember what size it was though -- sorry.

It's 5/16" and you must use a roll pin punch. A tapered punch will ruin your coupler.

I turned down a 5/16" drift punch a few thousandths because it will jam into coupler after roll pin is pushed out.

I knocked the old one out and who knows where it flew off to ...
and i all ways had used the right tool for the job AKA Philips screwdriver....

So it a 5/16 pin ..... 5/16x1"...

Yup a screwdriver might work, but I'm betting it tore up the roll pin and didn't do the coupler any favors.
That might be why your asking us what size you need....?

I can think of many other 5/16" diameter items that would be better than a tapered tip philips screw driver.

I guess you can't appreciate using the right tool until you try it.

Back in the junkyarding days I'd always grab the aircleaner stud out of the carb of the car I was taking the steering box out of... Worked great, never hurt a thing...
