"A good friend of mine is a Drag Racer and purchased a car with Strange axles. One of the axles broke and Strange would not stand behind it. He purchased Moser axles and the salesman told him that if he EVER broke one they would replace it for FREE!"
Sounds like your friend bought USED Strange axles.
SOME Moser axles have a 10 year warranty (not lifetime) and they will not cover any axle bought used. Here is a quote taken from Moser's website.
"This replacement policy only applies to the original purchaser and broken axles must be returned without alteration or repair, including welding, along with your proof of purchase, name, address, telephone number, and a description of the problem. This replacement policy applies only to asphalt drag race and typical street/strip applications. This replacement policy is not a warranty either expressed or implied."

You said your friend bought a car with a pair of Strange axles alreadly installed (used, pre-owned or what ever else you want to call it). I pointed out that Moser, as well as Strange will replace a broken axle for the original purchaser ONLY. This is clearly stated by BOTH Strange AND Moser.
I'm a Strange Engineering dealer because I believe most of their products are a better value. The OP asked for opinions about Strange and Moser Dana 60 rears. Unlike Moser, Strange incorporated threaded carrier adjusters into their Dana 60 housing, rather than simply copying the original, flawed design. Why would anyone want to pay more for an outdated design that must be set up with a housing spreader? In addition, Strange uses OEM gears and all US made components in their S-60 assemblies.

I would gladly trade my factory B-body housing for a new S-60 housing any day of the week The threaded adjusters are such a great addition to an already good part. I would go with Doctordiff if I were you Gus
