DemonDust OP master Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 5,207 Menomonee Falls	Putting my 3rd member together and I was wondering if there was an average shim pack thickness that goes between the pinion gear and bearing. WILD BILL Senior Member of the Junior Dragster Club Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 10,542 BROOK PARK, OH	I always used the old shims frim the gears I was replacing as a strating point and adjusted from there. As far as depth, I used marking compound and ajduted till I got a good contact pattern.

Not a actual number, just a # for illustratin purposes sometimes they're hard to see, twist it around under a bright light Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

The gears will be shot after only a couple of miles if the correct depth and backlash aren't first set. Don't ask how i found this out years ago.

(Old F--t, Huh)
