My plan is to have a 2" square receiver mounted behind the license plate so I can use a removable chute mount. Unfortunately, my project is not yet that far along, so I don't have pics of the mount system.
By using standard trailer hitch parts, I can remove the chute with a pin and install a trailer hitch ball for when I need to run the Drag Week event and pull a small support trailer.
Now if I can only finish the car while the Drag Week events still exist.

Did you just run a bar across the frame rails in the back to mount your tube?
Cross bar and supports. It's a CE kit that I made detachable. There was some debate on this board weather or not a detachable mount is legal. I'm not fast enough for the chute yet, but if needed I can weld everything together. If it's any consolation; the bolt I'm using to attach the mount is larger than the one that is used to tether the chute. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif)
