Hi again all! I assume I will have to take the SG apart to remove the thrust pins...but how is it secured in the pinion carrier? I checked the Tech Archive pictures but it is not that detailed. My understanding is that the pins need to be removed when going to green bearings with no adjusters. Does this all sound logical? Russ...

The originals are held together by a roll pin and can be removed by punching out the roll pin with a small pin punch. (the roll pin is usually broken and the buttons will just fall out)
Newer replacements are held together with a rivet and the unit needs to be disassembled to remove them.
