I have 1970 roadrunner that was originally a points set up, know a electronic set up, the distributor in the car is at least 11 years old, there is a tag on it (gold) with #3690432 went to auto parts store and it crossed over to a auto line D- 605. I am trying to see what it is I have and what is the right way to go for a new one with easily changeable springs that will still look close to correct. also there was one in a cardone book that looked the same # 303896 but my dist # did not cross over to that, I just want to get the right one ,any body have any knowledge on this. I think I have a spring issue with my car but instead of changing them if they even can be changed I thought new would be better since this one is so old. Thanks

More info on your symptoms, What eng, 383?. they say the new MP mallory made dizzys are easily adjustable but a JY OE one (would be cheap) out of a 70's 400 will work fine and you can get the hang of R&R ing the center clip to get inside. live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

Thanks #3690432 is a good number for the 413/426/440 wedge distributor. Its specs should be 20 degrees (@ the crank) advance all in by 2K RPM. My suggestion would be to measure your distributor and its advance curve, then decide the next move. Just my $0.02..
