Just got the car back from paint and beginning to put her back together... bought a Metro trunk seal and now the trunk wont shut properly...when it does shut, it does not sit flush like it did without the weatherstrip. I know that the new seal has to "compress" but I still believe that it is too thick. Unfortunately the original seal is long gone.... Anyone have a pic of their original trunk seal I could look at for comparison? Thanks, and happy new year!

It should be laid flat with the widest part on top and the seam where the ends mate just to the left of center by the latch. If yours doesn't have the transition built into it where it turns across the bottom, you may not have the best version available? Also, I have had them where they are just not soft enough to compress. What brand did you get?

I installed another with the outer edge flush with the inner verticle wall of the trough...This creates about 1/8" overhang over the trunk lip... shuts better, but still not right... if only it were about 1/8" thinner...
