What type of engine mount do I need to mount a 440 to a Hemi K frame. The passenger side is the issue. I have a couple sets of BB brackets but the the insulator for the passenger side obviously won't work it's a spool type. I need one with the stud for the passenger side. I just want to make sure I get the right ones so it goes in the first time.

I posted this in the Restoration forum earlier by mistake maybe I'll get a better response here.

If that is a factory E body, Hemi K frame then sell it and buy a V8 K-frame. A factory E body Hemi K should be worth some serious money. Don't screw it up trying to bolt a big block to it.

That was my first thought as well. Sell it to some hemi guy who's willing to part with all that $.

I replied to your post in the other thread, this is a cut & paste of that reply..

I thought alot of the 440 6 pack cars came with Hemi K frames

No Hemi K member engine mounts are completely different.. Picture attached...

440/440-6 & some 383 cars came with a skid plate similar to the Hemi K but the mounts are standard V-8 mounts & any 318/340/383/440 will bolt right up with the proper mounts & brackets....

I will get some pictures today but it looks like your picture. I just need to look for some part numbers and confirm it is original. Where would they be stamped? I couldn't find a coin on it yet. I will jack it up and search today and post some pics for opinions.

Production code would be on the front of the K facing forward... Same place as the coin if it were present...

This is an A-body K-member but the date is in the same location on all of them. They are often VERY difficult to see/find, you have to remove all of the paint and grime to see them in most cases, the tool used to punch in the stamp often dented the metal pretty good so look for a depressed area on the front face of the frame.

That looks like a 70-71 Hemi K-member, I would pull it and sell it before even THINKING about modifying it, those are worth big bucks to a guy needing one (sold one for $800 3 years ago and could have gotten more), the V8 k-member you need are a dime a dozen.

By the looks of the weld splatter, that has "original" written all over it

You need to post the numbers from the front dent

I'd think an original E body Hemi K would be worth at least $1000 to someone who needed one for a restoration. Maybe even more to the right guy. V8 K frames are $200 for a really nice one.

It has the dent where it was stamped I just need to sand it down to be able to read it. I can see the number "2" so far. I will let you know if I can read anything more when I clean it up.

Pete if you have a Challenger one let me know I'll probably be yanking it soon. Thanks, Chris

I wouldn't sand it, try a scotch brite pad or similar, you don't want to grind away metal with sandpaper
