Looking to get the most aggressive solid Roller cam for a 588 Cubic Inch Hemi with 14.5:1 compression with Nextec double springs and MP Aluminum heads CNC ported that flow around 420 at .800 lift.I want a cam that I can get 125-150 passes on before changing out valve springs. I figured thats about a season of racing for me. I plan on racing with the Texas Outsiders if I can finish this motor up.

I just built this very motor. 572 cid 14:1 compression, cnc ported modern cylinder heads (MP/Eddy castings) flowed 460cfm. Not knocking Nextek springs by no means, but I have had real good luck with the Pacaloy springs. The 1224 and there matching titanium retainer will save your $300 and are up to the task. I ran these springs 300+ passes and they still checked out great. 1.625 Diameter and was able to get near 2" installed height with 300 lbs seat and 800 lbs open on .800 lift cam. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) Modern Cylinder set my heads up, machined the push rod holes and pressed in a bronze Tube. Ran Manton stage III .120 wall pushrods, Comp 829 Lifters etc. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)
[color:"red"]65 Hemi Belvedere coming soon [color:"#00FF00"]557" Indy engine 1.07 60ft 144mph in the 8th 2100 lbs package

So what Solid roller cam size would you recommend? That will make gobs of mid and high range power and not kill valve springs. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcrn.gif)

you have what double springs? some will last 10 runs,, some will last 100 runs...
a 1.625 spring?
a 1.550 spring? the new stufff with 400lbs on the seat? or?
Here's what I have now. Nextec spring kit #221424
and a solid Roller cam .736 intake .711 exhaust with 1.6 intake rockers 1.55 exhaust rocker. duration 270 intake 276.2 exhaust.
this combo made absolutely no top end power.low end was insane but up to the 1/8th mile and after was a complete dog. I need to step it up.

Comp Cams RZ intake lobes, or RX. Both of these are very stable lobes for endurance etc. OI have run this lobe and the REV intake lobe also. Use maybe a JX exhaust lobe... Id just call Dewayne Porter, Jeff, or one of the other cam guys.. My last Custom was a Bullet racing Cam...very good stuff. Why are you wanting a cam that will wear stuff out twice a season BTW? Heads up or Class racer?

I freshen up my motor every year so a spring change won't break me. I just put it in the budget. I'm throwing out my combo now and want to order one up so as to finish up my motor. No one has a decent cam spec. for me? ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif)

Dude, Are you serious?!?!?!?! You need to call one or a few of the reputable Cam Companies out there, that have professionals that do it for a living & not ask for recommendations on a message board, where most are not capable of giving you what you are looking for.
