just scored a 2001 5.9 magnum, are the early j series heads interchangeable,i thought i heard they do but i would have to use a cam and lifter setup from an earlier 318-340-360's.

with rocker shaft heads you can tap oil from the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block & drill horizontally in the back of each head & then angle up to feed oil up to a rocker shaft bolt,from there on it's just like the factory setup.

As the Mag heads are better than any stock LA head why would you use the LA heads?
The roller cam can be reground for a reasonable fee and use the stock lifters and oushrods, unless you go wild on the cam in which case you may need longer pushrods.
