I was searching through the junkyard today, looking for a A518 transmission. I found one in what I believe is/was a 1994 Ram 50 pickup with a 5.9 engine. This is based on the emission stickers in the engine bay. The VIN/dash is gone. The thing that is throwing me is the transmission has a large "X" cast in the case behind the bell housing. The "X" goes from left to right across the top. The pictures I've seen on the internet don't show the "X" in the case. In the picture, the A518 is suppose be on the left. The transmission I was looking at doesn't have that cluster of webbing on the right side. It also doesn't match the transmission on the right side of the picture either, I think that is suppose to be a A500.

A ram 50 ??? that wouldn't have a 360 . do you mean 150 ?

A518 has the same bump out on the pass side of the trans case like a 727 ... they both use the same pan gasket... the A500 does not , it's a 904 based trans .

Yeah, you're right - 150 its a full size truck.

Left trans is 518 od, center trans is 727 possibly from a van w/hole in bell., right one looks like a 500 od.
