I never though I'd go forced induction, but after a new Roush blown stang w/ nitrous blew my hemi challenger away on the freeway 2 mos ago, I wanna make my 68 383 4 spd cuda bad ass & go looking for him! I built a 451 eddy head stroker for it & its fresh off the rotisserie. Fiberglass front ,fenders, moved rear frame rails in 2" & have 315/30 ET Streets that'll tuck nicely under the 1/4's with 5" narrowed 8 3/4, Cal Tracs, tubuler CAP upper & lower arms & Wilwoods on front. Frames tied. Fiberglass hood, bumpers. Think I'll do the A100 ban seats & superstock hemi hood. Have a 68 stroker hemi shortblock I may install. Nows the time to plan the build, so I'm really wanting to Procharge it. Like the twin turbo look, but Procharger seems a much easier install. I have the 451 on a stand, but really want a stroker Hemi in there. Can someone offer some advice on which motor, kit, cam, carb, etc? Also want to do custom intercooler & Hemi hoodscoop. Have Engle Hyd K57/58 112 cam in the low deck stroker & TM6 intake. Would you go the hemi route? What kind of power & speed could I get w/ a reliable Procharger build? Thanks much for the advice that'll steer me clear of any pitfalls.

All this because you got beat by a supercharged nitrous'd Mustang?
1969 Dodge Super Bee A12 (440 Six Pack, 4-speed, Dana 60 4.10)
1972 Plymouth Road Runner (400, 4-speed, 8.75" 3.23)
1974 Plymouth Duster 360 (360, 4-speed, 8.75" 3.23)

There's always a faster car. How big is your wallet? I would forget about it.

Yeah, because I just sold my Challenger, I'm finishing the 68 & want to do it right the first time & think it'd make a bad ass street/show car, which is what I want. Its built to handle the power, so I'm thinking force induction is the way I want to take it.

Check with FastFish, he is selling his supercharged 383.

Thanks for the link. Pretty awesome ride. I spoke to Bob at the Supercharger Store & he procharged a customer's 451 stroker in a 68 or 69 cuda, who runs in the 10's on the street. A friend who twin turbo'd his 70 383 stroker 'cuda says to go turbo, since the gas mileage is better when your foot is out of it. Trying to get as much info from guys who've done both.

If you want info on building a Procharged motor, I would contact Steve Morris Engines www.stevemorrisengines.com. Steve is the man when it comes to building a Procharged car. He is very willing to give you information and help. His number is 231-557-8262. Here's a video of Steve bouncing his Caprice Wagon off the wall at 190mph in Orlando. His Procharged BBC produced just under 3500HP on the Dyno. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxcKwcyQEq0&feature=player_embedded

Wow..I'd better switch to the Dana if it makes that kind of power & torque. I'm trying to figure out intercooler placement & cam choice. Does running the ProCharger without an intercooler shorten its life due to heat? What upgrades for strength could I add to the already built 451? I know a stud girdle helps & lowering the compression to 8:1 or 8.5:1 w/ new pistons might be a good idea, too. Its already got the big chamber Eddy's.
I bolted on a old paxton SN2000 on my very mild 440, It went from 12.90 on a good day to 12.08 and picked up 10mph on just under 6psi of boost. It also blew apart my 30+ year old set of 3.91's. I burned up #3 once when I forgot to turn on my electric fuel pump. Put it all back together with a 8psi pulley, but sold the car before I could get a run on it. Probably could have run 11.7's or better. That was on a stock rebuild 440, w/ no head work, Summit 488 cam RPM intake and 750DP. It's like full time NO2..it's always on and it never needs a re-fill.
