I have to replace the "fuzzies" on the steel upper inner quarter trims panels on my '68 GTX.
I notice that Ma Mopar stapled these in place.
What's everyone doing when they replace them? Rivets? Screws?
There are no holes in the new strips.

Medium length 1/8" rivets seem to work the best in my opinion. Make sure you don't use ones that are too long, because they will hit the inner structure they bolt to. I usually clamp the felts with small spring clamps, then drill & rivet them.

I have heard people using both rivets and screws but i found that when you do that the pannel does not slip over and down flush on the body lip because the screws or rivets will hit .
What i did was got some very heavy roofing staples and took my time clamping the fussy in place with small welding pliers and small electric drilled the holes for the staples and crimped them as tight as possible like the factory did using another set of pliers .
Worked perfectly , just like the factory i even found that if you stagger the staples the it holds them tighter . Cj

I just did these on a 73 satellite. I used screws, cut and ground the backs and they fit great, very secure, and it was easy.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
The new strips are Top Cat ones and they seem quite thick. I may have to cut a small pocket in them for the head of the screw or rivet. I'm thinking if I just try to attach them without makinf a spot for the screw or rivet head, that they will distort. Whad'ya think???

I had entertained that thought as well. No reason it shouldn't work .

I riveted mine in place. No issues at all.
