Your supposed to have a small amount of pressure in your gas tank on a warm day when you open it, up to 1.5 PSI, your fuel system is a vapor saver and is designed to be under pressure. That way you don't smell gas in your garage or anywhere else.
See the pics, I don't think I get pressure in the gas tank as the tube itself is vented. The small vent tube goes under the car into the brace (don't know the exact word/have another pic to show)

I have one of these I want to use on a car. Got it without a key so I didn't even know if it worked. Took it apart and had a key made. Now that it is put back together it doesn't lock. I don't remember dropping anything or if that is why they sold it. Anyone ever take one of these apart and have some pictures for me to see if I am missing something? Thanks, Bob bobs@glenrayradiators.com

Look to see if the tab is broken. Mine wouldn't lock either and found that without this tab in place it doesn't. I had to make a part by hand and now it locks.
