I want to get a set of G70-14 bias ply Goodyear Red Lines for a '69 B-body but there are so many different opinions out there, what do you guys think, should I or just get radials like BF Goodrich T/A's (you know the guys WITHOUT the Blimp )

EVERY muscle car I've driven since 1994 has had reproduction PolyGlas tires on it...I wouldn't have it any other way....Radials are for new cars

There is something to be said about radials but the repro. Goodyears just look soooooo good. This year I'm probably going to sell off the new T/A's I have on my GS and put G60 15's on it too. Ron

Mike, I just replied to a similar question the other day... I have around 8000 miles on my Firestone redlines since I put them on before Carlisle '05 and have had zero issues. I keep my distance, as I would expect most classic car owners to do, and try to stay out of the rain. Never have had a scare due to the tires and have never felt like I didn't have the control I need. Sure, they ride with a little more firmness, but I wouldn't trade them for radials. I just like the period correct look.

a friend of mine drove a car from roanoke to charlotte motor speedway to a car show there with bias ply and had 2 tires blow out, they was just bought before the trip, they was the red lines, good thing a rep was there at charlotte to make the tires good,he switched to the red line radials at the track, the roads these days are built for radials and not bias ply

I drive on nothing but. The only thing that will get your attention are ruts if you have manual steering.....It will rip the wheel out of your hand if you don't have a decent grip on it.

What I am waiting for is for someone to reproduce the Goodyears that look exactly "like 1970", but are actually radials.

Some good friends of mine drove their car from Chicago to the Grand Canyon and back. No problems with the tires.

If you have a good front end and alignment go for it!

I've been doing anywhere from 100 - 200 miles total just about each weekend during the cruising season (late March-October) Drove from El Paso, TX to Ohio about 2200 miles but I don't think I have plans on doing that again soon Some shows can be as much as 100 - 300 miles away (one way) so jounts like that could be necessary and not out of the question. I'm not going to do red line radials, they just don't look "right" in radials, I'd do the T/A's before that, so it's bias ply red lines or T/A radials....rather do the bias ply Goodyear red lines on stock road wheel/"magnums" for now and if not then it's Torque Thrust and T/A time. I just think with this look (stock wheels) the red lines are a better look for now.

Polyglass tires as long as they are new feel just like they did when these car were new.

The look of them makes up for the not so great points.

Hey lets not forget they hook when you heat them up good.

Were those tires PolyGlas you were frying off the rims in the AAR in the next Mopar Action?

True, very true but this time I'm going for a better set of shocks than the KYB's I had on my '68 Road Runner so maybe a little better ride even with bias ply tires?

I Photoshop'd some red lines on the GTX, what do you guys think?

(car is missing the GTX trim and wheel opening trim too, sorry, it will be on there in the Spring even if I have to borrow it from the A12 eh Gary T )

the RWL pic looks better, fwiw. those redlines didnt last very long, back in the day. they came off pretty quick, for some rwl wide-o-vals and a set of headers too. nice looking X though!!

I run M/T ET Streets (bias) on the back of my Road Runner. They follow every little rut or seam in the road. I cannot even imagine running bias on the front. Has anyone actually seen the roads we have to drive on here in PA?
