I'm looking to convert my 72 Duster to front disc brakes. I have a KH SBP set up from a 71 Demon and a 73 LBP set up off a duster. What are a few pros & cons of each. I see the rotors for the 71 SBP are nearly 4x as much. Thoughts/Opinions?

LBP more of a selection of wheels you can use.
SBP limted wheels

SELL the small bolt setup to a collector or someone that needs them for a factory correct restoration. The 4 piston setup can be hard to rebuild.
I agree on the better wheel availability with the larger pattern, plus the larger 1/2 inch lug bolt size is a nice upgrade in strength.

The four-piston brakes are a better brake, but the thin rotor is more prone to warping so taking advantage of the better braking might prove to be expensive. No problem rebuilding the K-H calipers, but rebuilt calipers for the later setup are CHEAP. There are more wheels available for the large bolt pattern. The only other downside for some folks is that the later brakes move the wheels out a little.

Also realize that if you switch the front to LBP you'll need to switch the back over or carry 2 spare tires ... does anyone actuially change a flat these days instead of calling the hook ??

I was also going to change the rear axles to LBP as well so I need one spare for the long hauls. Thanks for the input.

I figure the rear is good at a 15 x 8 rim with a 4.25 offset, but will a 15 x 7 rim work on the front with a 3.5" offset with the LBP disc upgrade?
