Do the lug nuts hold them on? I thought it would look good to have the centers chrome plated and used on black wheels. My car is black so I think it would look tough.

No, they are held on by small screws from the back. I think you should try it and see how it looks. May have to drill the small holes in the wheels...no big deal. Would you post the pics if you try it?

Some cop wheel have the holes for the center caps some don't. You may have to drill them. You can only fit the 70-71 style rallye center caps. the 72 and up will not fit.

AMC, and Big Chrysler centers look best on them.

if they are drilled more than likely they were on a magnum, or super coupe.

But if they have knobs to hold down dog dish caps, they are police rims. I've had police knobbed rims with 3 holes in them. I don't think I've seen one with the complete 5 center cap holes. But I was messing with those in 1994, that was a while ago.

I am pretty sure they all have the provision for the hubcaps.

True Super Coupe wheels do not have the nubs for hubcaps.

Cool, I like it. I'm suprised at how expensive these things are.

Not right now. I did run that setup for 4-5 years though.

Now I run 15x8 4.5 backspace rallyes with 245/50/15 tires.

As regards to the price. Look at what summit gets for rallye repro rims. And those come powdercoated (worth $25/rim I'd say). I would pay half that amount for used often pitted rusted cop rims. Make sure to inspect the lug nut holes/tapers for wear.

I believe someone is repoping em out of plastic for a pretty reasonable price.

You can get those centers on Ebay for around $80 a set in plastic. Trim rings were around $25 a piece from Summit. You can use a air right angle grinder with a 2" 80 grit and knock about an 1/8" off each pedastal on the back side of the caps to get them to fit down a little tighter but its not necassary. Two of those wheels had holes for the center caps mounting bolts and I made a template out of cardboard from one to transfer holes onto the 2 that werent drilled for them. If none of your wheels are drilled for centers use a late model Rallye to make a pattern from. You are using the 5 holes for the lug bolts to center the template onto the wheel you need to drill. Good luck.

I've pulled cop rims with 3 holes in them off cop cars.

Super coupe rims are 8" not 7" You can bolt those pointy New Yorker center caps on them.
